- Q: Can I grill inside when the weather is bad outside?
- A: Absolutely not. Never bring a grill designed for outdoor use into your home or inside a closed-shelter building. You can start a fire because starting the grill inevitably brings smoke, sparks and a strict air flow.
- Q: Can I put the steaks on the grill and run inside the house?
- A: No. Do not leave a grill unintended in any situation. A fire - or charred food - can happen in an instance. Make sure there is someone watching the grill at all times.
- Q: What do I do if the flames get out of control?
- A: If the flames on the grill are climbing to fearsome heights, turn down the gas on a gas grill. Take the food off a charcoal grill and then slightly spray water from a water bottle onto the flames to help calm them down a little. Make sure you also keep a fire extinguisher and either a bucket of sand or a garden hose near the grilling area in case flames get out of control. For grease fires, baking soda works well to extinguish flames. Douse the flames with the powder. Call 911 immediately in all cases of fire that has gotten out of control.
